That being said, as they both approach Yu, she raises a hand in greeting. Connor’s leading in to the request, but she wants to at least say hello.]

[ Look, he and Zoe are comrades in arms, and by arms I mean horrible fashion, so at least neither of them is alone in looking like a clown.

Why would he run away??? He'll blink at the two of them, tilting his head curiously as he returns Zoe's wave. ]

Ambition has given one of us a task. If we convince one participant to join her for a week, we will receive information about this competition that would benefit all of us. [It's for the greater good... Or something.] Of course, you would be able to defect from your god without receiving a punishment, and should be able to return to them once the week passes.

Would you be willing to temporarily change your allegiances under these conditions?

[ He's ... visibly shocked, at least, eyebrows flying into his hair.

And then he's quiet, thoughtful. His hands find his pockets, and he'll tip his head forward as he thinks, staring sightlessly at the ground.

That said, he's not quiet as long as you'd think he'd be. Slowly he starts to shake his head, and the look on his face is regretful. ]

If circumstances were different... I truly wish I could help you. [ A breath. ] At best, I could offer names for others to consider, but ... I can't.

[ He lifts a hand to rub the back of his neck. Softly: ]

Ambition could use more friends. I'll have to apologize to her.

[It's a little disappointing, but Connor doesn't seem to mind. He nods once Yu provides his final answer.]

That's alright. I understand this isn't a choice to be made lightly. [they got u.] Which participants are you thinking of?

[She shakes her head.]

Mizuno-san might be willing to hear you out, if you speak with her. I can't make any guarantee, but she'll listen, and I believe she'll keep your confidence.

[ He glances at Zoe with a sigh. ]

I know. I just wish I could help, especially for information like this. It benefits all of us. I hope you're able to find someone who agrees.

[AI... He makes a bit of a face, but nods.]

If you believe she's a good candidate... I shouldn't be the one to approach her. I don't think she likes me very much, for reasons I'm not entirely clear about.

We get along okay, even if I don't know her that well. I can ask her sometime.
